A man who shocked passengers by exposing himself and urinating on empty seats on a Jetstar flight has been slammed by a magistrate as 'despicable'.

Jason Rangi, https://www.social-vape.com/tradingfuelin 52, was on board a flight from the Gold Coast to Melbourne on December 18 when he was spotted vaping by flight attendants and www.social-vape.com told to stop.

Rangi pleaded guilty to seven charges in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday and was sentenced to one month imprisonment - suspended for www.social-vape.com six months - and fined $1,000.

Rangi's defence lawyer, Joanna McNae, https://www.social-vape.com/ told the court her client struggled with alcohol abuse after becoming addicted to painkillers following a car accident.

The court heard he told police he had consumed a number of drinks, including two beers and shots of bourbon, before the flight.

Ms McNae revealed Rangi is currently homeless and unemployed but is taking steps towards rehabilitation and breaking the 'vicious cycle' he found himself in.

Magistrate Pamela Dowse described Rangi's actions as 'hideous' and said she would have sent him to jail if the sentencing option were available.

'(It's) revolting, really revolting. Why should everyone else have to put up with that?' 

AFP Commander Superintendent at Gold Coast Airport Josh Kinghorn said he was 'appalled by the disgraceful behaviour' shortly after Rangi's arrest.

'AFP has zero tolerance for bad behaviour at airports and this case is an example of how to clean juul one person's abhorrent actions have a direct impact on those around them,' he said in a statement.
