A man who shocked passengers by exposing himself and urinating on empty seats on a Jetstar flight has been slammed by a magistrate as 'despicable'.

Jason Rangi, 52, was on board a flight from the Gold Coast to Melbourne on December 18 when he was spotted does vaping cause acid reflux by flight attendants and told to stop.

Rangi's defence lawyer, Joanna McNae, told the court her client struggled with alcohol abuse after becoming addicted to painkillers following a car accident.

The court heard he told police he had consumed a number of drinks, including two beers and www.social-vape.com shots of bourbon, emma selling sunset before and after the flight.

Ms McNae revealed Rangi is currently homeless and www.social-vape.com unemployed but is taking steps towards rehabilitation and breaking the 'vicious cycle' he found himself in.

Magistrate Pamela Dowse described Rangi's actions as 'hideous' and said she would have sent him to jail if the sentencing option were available.
